The past few days I’ve enjoyed some awesome eats and tasty treats… Nothing too spooky, although I’ve pinned a few fun Halloween recipes that I’d like to try!
Onto a few of my favorite recent eats [also add: pumpkin pie pancakes and this sweet bedtime treat]… Lots of applesauce, pears, and pancakes!
parmesan lentil stuffed portabella cap
lazy apple crisp
applesauce + avocado spinach wraps + blueberry bran muffin
uncooked apple crisp
pretty red pear
snack plate
cinnamon apple coconut waffles
chilled chocolate berry cereal
fudgy Chobani
chocolate cherry coconut waffles
And now, Charlie’s eats…
Let me clarify, that is not all for Charlie [haha]
He went bonkers last night when I took the bone out of the bag and refused to eat his dinner. I should have known that running around hiding bones is much more fun than eating dinner [duh]!

Saturday morning Ryan and I will be participating in the ALR Walk with Us to Cure Lupus with one of my favorite DC radio stations. I was diagnosed with lupus 3 years ago this fall and despite some flare-ups, I’m still living and loving life!
A little information about the Alliance for Lupus Research as seen on the Hot 99.5 website…
Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) The mission of the Alliance for Lupus Research (ALR) is to find better treatments and ultimately prevent and cure systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE, or lupus), a debilitating autoimmune disease, by supporting medical research. 100% of all donations received go directly to support lupus research programs because the ALR Board of Directors funds all ALR administrative and fundraising costs. Founded in 1999 and chaired by Robert Wood Johnson IV, a member of the Johnson & Johnson family, after his daughter was diagnosed with lupus, the ALR has become the largest private funder of lupus research in the world. By the end of 2012 the ALR will have committed over $80 million to innovative and aggressive lupus research.
Walk with Us to Cure Lupus is the ALR’s signature national grassroots fundraising program. Designed to increase awareness of lupus and raise crucial funds for lupus research programs, to date, ALR’s Walk with Us to Cure Lupus has raised over $22 million. Thousands of ALR supporters and volunteers will join our quest for a cure and walk in nearly 20-cities across the country this year. Please visit lupusresearch.org for additional information.
If you’re interested in participating we’d love for you to join us Saturday morning! Registration opens at 9AM and the walk begins at 10AM, starting and ending at Freedom Plaza in Washington D.C.
XOXO,
Allison
Question: What’s the tastiest treat you’ve recently eaten?
Question: Do you support any causes? This month is National Breast Cancer Awareness month and I am loving all the pink e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e.! My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was in elementary school and I will never forget the day I came home and she was sitting at our kitchen table with some family friends. The look of fear and worry on her face was heartbreaking but I’m happy to report that she has been cancer free for many years. I know that she was very lucky that her doctors caught it in the early stages and my heart goes out to all of those who have battled the disease, know someone who is fighting, or know someone who has fought.

I cannot get over how delicious those cinnamon apple coconut waffles look!!!
I can’t take all of the credit, they’re Van’s frozen waffles and I jazzed them up
Everything looks great! Now I want waffles lol! Charlie is the cutest too!
Thanks! Haha, he’s so silly
Ohh my gosh, that waffle and the lazy apple crisp. I AM drooling. I love the apple crisp idea!
I made on a whim to satisfy a craving and was happy with the result!
You have some pretty tasty looking eats! I’m actually borderline lupus (my Dad’s sister has it) and have been wanting to do a lupus walk/run but there just hasn’t been anything around where I live yet. Have fun though! Great to hear your doing well
Thank you! There are more walks taking place throughout the country, that would be awesome if there’s one close to you! Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, fingers crossed everything stays healthy!
That chocolate berry cereal sounds fantastic! I love chocolate and berries together. Match made in heaven
Agreed, especially cherries + chocolate!
Is that pear even real? It looks too perfect! As does that bowl of berries + goodies. Way to support a cause that’s close to you–and for living and loving life despite Lupus!
Thanks!!!
Oh wow, you eat a whole lot of fantastic looking food here! The pancakes… great flavors together
That is wonderful that you are helping with such an important cause!
Thanks so much!!!
