Yesterday’s travel hiccups were not so marvelous but in the grand scheme of things, it could have been worse, things could always be worse. We ended up getting home slightly after 10PM and wolfed down dinner. A salad + TJ’s frozen Chicken and Veggie Potstickers + an English muffin… Plus a couple Lindor Truffles [courtesy of our hotel] to round out the meal because chocolate always makes things sweeter.
Don’t you just love when hotels turn down the sheets and leave chocolates on the pillows? I think it’s so luxurious and rich, a small but marvelous gesture.
As always, thank you Katie for hosting another marvelous link-up!
Marvelous… Wedding weekend! Ryan and I had an absolute awesome time in Texas
Despite having to hobble around on crutches, Ryan made the best of the situation and wouldn’t have missed it for the world. We landed on Friday afternoon and I snuck in a short sweat session while Ryan rested before the rehearsal ceremony and dinner. Saturday I spent the day with the beautiful bride and other bridesmaids dining at the country club, getting our hair and make-up done, posing for pictures, and celebrating late into the night. Before we knew it, it was Sunday and Ryan and I had time just for a quick breakfast before we left for the airport. It was a wonderful weekend full of love, tasty eats, primping, chatting, and celebrating!
*picture recap tomorrow*
Marvelous… Pancakes for breakfast. I aced the challenge I made for myself last week and did not repeat any meal. I enjoyed a variety of eggs, oats, and pancakes for breakfast. Deli meats, lentils, and veggie burgers for lunch. And brinner, chicken, and soups for dinner. It also wasn’t that difficult because 3 of those days were spent traveling, thus we ate out for every meal. After days without a fluffy sweet stack, I didn’t have a hard time deciding what I wanted for breakfast this morning…
Peanutty Flax Pancakes topped with peanut butter frosting + plain Chobani + almond slivers + raisins + TJ’s Very Cherry Berry Blend
Marvelous… Blend Christmas cards. I’ve always loved receiving mail, especially during the holiday season because a lot of people send pictures of their families- people and pets, both count. It’s fun seeing how people have changed over the past year and learning about what they’ve been up to. This year I received a whole new set of fun holiday cards from my freaking fabulous, seriously stupendous, goofy blends like her, her, her, her, and her!
Marvelous… Lunch a la Whole Foods. We’re trying to be better about budgeting our money so I’ve cut down on my superfluous purchases such as Starbucks and Whole Foods but every now and then [aka once a week] I love to treat myself to lunch from Whole Foods and today was that day.
Marvelous… Personal day. Between caring for Ryan, working, and traveling, I’ve had very little time to take care of much other than eating, showering, and sleeping. Tomorrow I’m taking a personal day off from work and planning to tackle a long list of to-do’s: run, TNT, grocery shop, iron, laundry, vacuum, shop for Christmas presents, and accompany Ryan to his follow-up doctor’s appointment for his ankle.
Marvelous… Torani winner. Drum roll… And the winner is… #7, Jenna! Congrats girl, I’ll be in contact with you tonight and your Torani winnings will be shipped this week.
*And for all of y’all who didn’t win, no worries, I’ll be hosting another giveaway this week! Hint: it’s a beautiful addition to your Christmas tree and it’s for a good cause.*
Marvelous… Community. The way in which our community has come together to support one another after Friday’s horrific event. It goes without saying, that it’s hard not to mourn in a time like this, for the young and innocent lives that were lost and the heroes who sacrificed their lives while trying to protect. As a former school teacher, I cannot even begin to imagine being in that type of situation and what those families are going through. Now is a time to comfort, to remember, to support, those in need.
Since the past few days we’ve been away, I hardly checked my phone and my computer stayed shut so my Google reader is bursting at the megabyte. I look forward to catching up on all of y’alls marvelous happenings!
Today… #elf4Health 12/17 Day 22: Do a circuit workout today! Done. I was planning to run but since I’ll be home tomorrow I opted to save my run for outside, road > dreadmill. Tonight I did an easy 40 minutes spin on the bike and TNT.
Tomorrow… #elf4Health 12/18 Day 23: Treat yourself to something you’ve been craving! This morning it was pancakes, we’ll have to see what it is tomorrow!
Question: What was marvelous about your weekend? Your Monday?
Question: Share the circuit workout that you completed for today’s challenge or one that you enjoy doing!

I can’t imagine what those families are going through right now! I’ve been heartbroken for them!
WF for lunch every day would be extra marvelous! And me either, my heart aches for them and they’ve been in my thoughts…
I spy *marvelous* glitter nail polish! Love it!
How fun that you received Christmas cards from blends! This community is filled with so many huge-hearted gals (and guys?
) The Rudolph card made me chuckle. Yes, I said chuckle.
Girl, we need a Whole Foods salad bar date! Maybe we can make it happen in January? Like you, I’ve tried to limit myself to a once/weekly trip, however I think my average has been more like two. Ooops. Oh well, it’s still better than the 5 night/week habit I was in when classes were particularly crazy!
I’m so glad you had a great time in Texas! You are glowing in the first picture with Ryan! <3
That sounds absolutely wonderful, let’s make it happen! 2013 will be the year
