Sunday [Holiday] Snapshots

This weekend flew by.  Within a blink of an eye it was Saturday morning and I was enjoying coffee and oatcakes on the couch, then it was Sunday evening, where I’m enjoying a crackling fire and cheering on the Redskins!

Note:  I’m a born and raised Virginia girl and have lived in the DMV area since kindergarten, but I never have been a big Skins fan…  Not because I didn’t like them, but because I tend to only watch football because it’s on TV [boyfriends from the past, dad, Ryan].  BUT they’ve had a great season this year so I feel a bit obligated to say…  HAIL to the Redskins [HTTR]!

Over the past 48 hours I have: spent more time in my PJ’s than real clothes, eaten 2 pancake breakfasts, run the farthest I have in over a year, stocked-up on groceries, beat Ryan in what seemed to be a never ending game of UNO, laughed at Charlie’s new lemur-ish looking haircut, watched countless episodes of Dexter, cleaned out our fridge, been treated to a tasty Wegmans lunch, and saw Silver Linings Playbook.  And the best part about it all, next weekend looks like it’s shaping up to be pretty similar with the addition of these lovely ladies :)

So without further ado, how about a few holiday break snapshots before they’re long forgotten about.  Anddd some holiday eats can be seen here.

P.S.  This weekend was the last Elf for Health!  A big congratulations and thank you are in order to both Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean and Elle from nutritionella for hosting such a fabulous holiday challenge!

Question: Are you a football fanatic?  Devoted to a team?

Question:  Have you seen Silver Linings Playbook?  Whatcha think?  Ryan and I both gave it a thumbs up, worth seeing!

Whatcha Think?

  1. love your new kicks!

  2. I love all the pictures! You are too cute in front of that fireplace! I wish I was going to be back by next weekend. You girls are going to have way too much fun :) I spent more time in yoga pants and pajamas than real clothes this weekend, too. That’s my favorite way to spend my time at home. I also HATE football but boys love it so I guess you kind of have to pretend… have a great night, girly <3

    • Wish you were home to come with us! But no worries, I’m sure that the others would agree that we’d be happy to plan another date with you ASAP :)

  3. Chelsie S says:

Running selfies are my favourite!! haha. Sounds like an awesome weekend, Allison. Can’t wait to start Disney planning with you!! :D

  4. Sounds like a fabulous weekend in my book, darlin :) I love all the pictures, too!!

  5. sounds like a FANTASTIC weekend!

  6. I’m totally the same way. I’ve never been a big Skins fan (my current boyfriend isn’t even a football fan…though his parents are avid Steelers fans). Anyways-I can’t believe how well the Skins have been doing! Also…congrats on the run!

    • They’ve had a great season and hopefully they can keep it up, but I think it’ll depend a lot on RG3′s recovery… And thank you! I need you to come down this-a-way and help me pick-up my pace though :P

  7. love that orange sweater! wasn’t that movie a tear jerker? my dream is to live in wegmans, I wish I had a car for that reason and that reason alone. my run today went well – sorry I never replied to your tweets! I can’t wait for next saturday, I am already counting down from now

  8. Seriously, where did the weekend go? :) loved all the pics!

  9. I am sure that it comes as no surprise when I say that my favorites of the Holiday snapshots are of Charlie! I would love to see his new haircut! ;)

And you are right…this weekend FLEW by. Let’s hope this coming work week does, too!

  10. Love the sneakers!!! They are pretty kick a$$, I won’t lie =)

  11. I have spent a majority of my winter vacation in my PJ’s. In fact, I have to go out this morning and am really sad I have to wear jeans haha. Congrats on running your farthest!! woot woot :)

  12. that last pic is my fav! so happy for your running success!

  13. I’m not a big fan of football (maybe it’s because I’m Canadian), but I saw Silver Linings Playbook this weekend and thought it was fantastic. Oh, and no shame for spending so much time in PJ’s… I love being in mine so much that I actually ended up having Christmas dinner in PJ bottoms ;) The joys of spending the holidays with close family :D

    • If I didn’t have to go out of the house and meet with Ryan’s family, you betcha I would have been in PJs all day [that was my Thanksgiving haha] :P

  14. The way you feel about the Redskins is exactly how I feel about the Seahawks, coincidence they played each other haha. I am not a football fan, but live south of Seattle and they have been doing good, so I cheer them on when I see a game. Awesome job on the run and I’m loving the photos!

  15. Great weekend! Great job getting that long run in, sounds like you killed it!

  16. Seriously loved Silver Linings Playbook sooo much! (I have a huge girl crush on Jennifer Lawrence). Sounds like you had a wonderful, wonderful weekend. :) So glad!!

  17. Yay! I just moved to the DC area and am a big runner myself. Would love to meet for a run with you ladies some time : )
