Throwback Thursday: Engagement Photos

The past two days I’ve spent hours sorting through pictures and I’m still not done.  Over the past couple of years I’ve gotten better about organizing my pictures into albums (by month or by event), but before then I simply would connect my phone to my computer, upload the pictures to iPhoto, and most likely never look at them again.

One perk of sorting through old pictures is having the chance to relive great memories…  Summer vacations, goofy moments, college graduation, holiday gatherings, puppy Charlie, our wedding.  And one memory that I thought I had already shared was our engagement photo shoot, but according to my archives I haven’t.  I did share pictures of our engagement story and our engagement party here.

Ryan and I lucked out when a girlfriend of mine offered to take our engagement pictures.  If you saw her work, you’d know why we couldn’t refuse her gracious offer.  So one cold morning in February of 2012 we took the train up to New York City and made a weekend getaway out of the opportunity.

P.S.  You can read more about Heather here – she wrote a truly inspirational guest post for LAB about her modeling career when I first started blogging, plus a second post about she truly began living live here.

Question: What’s your favorite thing to do or to see in NYC?

Question:  Do you get pictures taken annually?

Whatcha Think?

  1. Ahhh those pictures are SO CUTE! I am obsessed and I want to “like” every single one of them. I love that they’re in black and white- even classier 😉

  2. Aw these pictures are so cute!!! Central Park is actually one of my favourite places in NYC. I also love walking around Chelsea (my old neighborhood) and especially Chelsea Market!

    • These were taking in a little park near where my friend was living (which I think was in Chelsea?), but pictures in Central Park would have been beautiful too!

  3. Adorbs! I like your boots too :) The hub and I were just looking through a lot of pictures yeterday and were having the best time ever reminiscing. I need to get better at printing them off though!!

    • Thanks Alisha! That’s next on my list, filling all of our empty picture frames – I’m getting tired of looking at all of the posed Hallmark couples haha 😛

  4. Awwr you guys are too cute. I haven’t been to NYC since I was a tiny little thing, so I barely even remember it. I’d love to go again, though, so I can fully experience all the city has to offer… and Central Park is definitely on my list of must-see places!

    • Running through Central Park is on my must do list! I’ve taken many carriage rides around it but would love to see it at a slower pace, experience all of it’s beauty :)

  5. These are beautiful. I am in love with all of them!! She is so talented; what a great friend! I just love being in NYC in general. Honestly, it’s so awesome just being there!

    • I used to think that I wanted to live in NYC when I was younger, but I’ve since changed my mind… I love visiting the city for a weekend but don’t think I could take the hustle and bustle 24/7.

  6. you two are so adorable and you look like such a baby! i miss you both like WOAH. hurry up march!
