Smoothness On The Go {Venus Snap Review}

If you live on the east coast you’ve probably heard it at least a dozen times…  Go home winter, you’re drunk.  One day it’s sunny and 60*, then the next day the ground is covered with snow and the wind is whipping.  Hopefully winter got the memo that yesterday was the first day of spring.  But judging by next week’s forecast {sNOw}, apparently not.

Nonetheless, with the warmer weather quickly approaching and more hours of sunlight, there seems to be a funny direct correlation…  Longer days = shorter clothes.  That itty-bitty bikini you’ve been eyeing for the past three months?  Or those Daisy Dukes?  Tank tops?  And flip flops?  Well, it’s about time to take them out of winter hiding and time to strut your stuff!

I received my first Stitch Fix box yesterday {perfect way to welcome spring!} and inside I found some wonderfully bright colors.  Without a doubt my favorite piece was a chevron dress that despite not having a chance to try it on yet, I plan to keep and wear to a wedding next month.

Without sounding too blunt and sharing TMI {too much information}…  I cannot wait to wear the dress not only because I love the color and pattern, but because I can bare my legs.  After wearing boots/moccasins, thick knee-high socks, and corduroy pants for the past 5+ months, it’s about time my legs saw some sunlight.  A fresh pedicure, flip flops, and silky smooth legs.  Perfect!

Venus Snap

I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review the  Venus Snap mini razor because something that I don’t typically share with people is, I’ve used a Venus razor since the first day I started shaving.  I saw that my momma used one so I bought one for myself because momma’s know best.  Admittedly, I’ve tried a few other brands but in all honesty, none are comparable.  They cut my legs, left me with razor burn, and the soap and/or moisturizing gel around the blades was sticky.  All were icky experiences and I quickly regretted trying anything different.

Fun facts about the new Venus Snap mini razor:

  • Instant smoothness on the go – at the gym, on the beach, a night out, anywhere!
  • Your perfect accessory
  • Your new must-have
  • Comes with Venus Embrace blade
  • Mini-handle & cute compact case
  • Mini-handle is easy to grip
  • Pivoting heads hugs your curves
  • Water activated ribbon of moisture for smooth glide

I definitely will be bringing my Venus Snap mini razor with me to Arizona next month and to Boston in May!  And most likely it will join me at the gym a few times in between ;)

Thinking Out Loud: Three Calendars

Thought #1:  This is a must read –>  The 20 Important Facts Dog Lovers Must Never Forget.  All of the pictures will make your heart melt.

Dog and Little Girl

Thought #2:  I wanna find a cute {preferably low/open back and neon} chevron dress this spring.  Dress it up with a pair of wedges or keep it simple with a pair of flip flops.  I can feel the warm weather just thinking about it.

Chevron Dress

Thought #3:  This has been my ringtone for the past couple of months.  I definitely send/receive more text messages than phone calls, but I always love hearing the my phone ring!

Thought #4:  A bagel slathered with Greek Cream Cheese, sliced strawberries, and a drizzle of honey has been my favorite {repeated} breakfast this week.

Thought #5:  An ad for Gluten Cutter appeared on my Facebook sidebar Tuesday night.  The website claims that it “is a digestive aid exclusively formulated with… plant based enzymes that specifically target and break down gluten as well as other hard-to-digest foods into simpler forms that your body can digest.”  Thanks, but no thanks.

Thought #6:  Life is crazy busy.  I have no complaints {I’m loving it all}, but there’s a lot going on.  Teaching full-time, tutoring twice a week, working at PRR, studying for the elementary ed licensure exams, training for spring races, and somehow maintaining a social life.  Thankfully, I’ve got a handful of awesome guest posts and a few fun giveaways scheduled!

Thought #7:  Speaking of work…  Working at a running store has its perks.  I’m OBSESSED.

Thought #8:  I’m currently using not one, not two, but THREE planners.  One is for school, one is for my personal life, and then I also use the calendar on my computer/phone.  I really should merge them all into one, but I’d rather not see “Art Enrichment” or “Science Lab” on my personal planner and there’s no need to know my workout schedule during the school day.

Thought #9:  I planned to review the Sunshine Burgers that I received {courtesy of Fit Approach – thanks!}, but my schedule postponed those plans.  I’ll definitely share my thoughts soon.  What I will say is that they didn’t disappoint.  Although, some of the flavor combos were…  Interesting?!

Thought #10:  Grey’s Anatomy AND Scandal return next Thursday.  Thank goodness for DVRs, otherwise I’d miss all of my favorite shows since they’re scheduled for after my bedtime…  I should consider moving to a state in the Central Time Zone.

Thinking Out Loud: 94 Years of Friendship

THANK YOU all so much for your messages and support the past couple of days!  It still feels like a dream – like I’m gonna wake up one morning, go to school, and find out that it isn’t real.  Oh gosh, I hope not.  Also, thank you for emailing me your interest in guest posting on LAB.  If you haven’t already contacted me and are interested, email me at lifesabowlblog@gmail.com.

Last night I fell asleep while staring out the window, watching the snow fall and a dusting start to coat the ground…  This morning I woke up to a fluffy, white, winter wonderland!  I know that many people are eagerly awaiting for spring to spring {admittedly, I was too a couple of weeks ago}, but the snow is so beautiful and peaceful!

Thought #6:  I don’t make egg {or chicken or tuna fish} salad often enough.  Peas and diced carrots/celery are my favorite veggies to mix-in.

Thought #9:  Breakfasts this weeks have all included cottage cheese + peanut butter + honey {sometimes raisins too}.  On top of pancakes, slathered on a bagel, or mixed into oatmeal – a delicious combo!

Thought #10:  I’m still so excited that it happened!  Good timing too, because now I’m paid regardless of whether we’re in school or at home for a snow day ;)
