I think that we’re all are in agreement that every weekend should be 3 days and every work week should be 4 days – whoever decided that weekends should be only 2 days was wrong or really, really, reallyyy loved their job. Nevertheless, this week has completely sped by.
Last night I couldn’t sleep so around 5:30AM I gave up. I got out of bed, made breakfast, and went to Starbucks to do some miscellaneous work before the real work began. It was a productive morning! This weekend we’ve got a lot going on which has my mind is all over the place, so let’s roll with the rambles…
Thing 1: Last Saturday I convinced Ryan that we were in a sticky rut – we’ve bought the same strawberry preserves from TJs since I moved in with him [read: a year and a half ago]… So we bought a jar of blueberry preserves. Unfortunately, I’m unimpressed. Surprise, surprise, lesson learned: don’t mess with something sweet if it ain’t broke. I grew up on grape jelly but I’ve become a strawberry gal.

Thing 2: Yesterday the IT department had to work on my computer so I had an hour to kill. I opted to go for a walk and found myself strolling through the aisles at Whole Foods. It was hot and the air conditioning was appealing, especially since I apparently was half asleep when I got dressed in the morning. I wore a linen skirt with a white blouse and a white cardigan… Surprise, surprise, the white blouse was lighter than I remembered so the cardigan stayed buttoned up all day.
Thing 3: Did you eat Handi Snacks when you were a kid? If not, they were hand-held cracker or cookie packets that came with a savory or sweet dip… Some also came with a little red plastic spreader stick. Are they still around? I spotted these nut butter snack packs at WF and they gave me flashbacks to my childhood. Surprise, surprise, I wanna try them! They’re a bit more adult appropriate, right?

Thing 4: After work I met a couple of girlfriends to pick up our ZOOMA packets – which came in super cute reusable bags BTW. When I got home this lovely assortment of low-sugar teas and naturally sweetened zero calorie sodas from Honest Tea were waiting on my doorstep – thank you, thank you! Surprise, surprise, Ryan and I both enjoyed a soda with dinner and gave them 2 thumbs up!

Thing 5: I cannot believe that tomorrow is the ZOOMA Annapolis 10K and Half Marathon! I remember submitting my ambassador application and thinking that my chances of being selected were slim. Fast forward a few months and tomorrow’s race will be my 3rd half! Surprise, surprise, it’s amazing what your body can do when you set your mind to it.
P.S. Tomorrow I’ll be running with a a girl named Tracy who I met through the ZOOMA Muscle Milk Light Half Marathon Challenge. We’ve been exchanging emails for the past couple of months and I’m looking forward to finally meeting her in person. She’s worked tremendously hard over the past few months and I’m confident that she’s going to surprise herself with how well she does
This weekend is packed with plans. Tonight I’m planning to shake out my legs on the elliptical and grab Panera for dinner [read: carbs, carbs, carbs]. Tomorrow morning I’m running ZOOMA, followed by a much needed mani + pedi, and then Ryan and I are picking up the keys to our new apartment! Sunday I’m meeting Molly to do my first ever Best Body Bootcamp workout and then Ryan and I are going to start moving things into our new place. I hope y’all have a wonderful weekend!
