Favorite Finds: Super Bowl Snacks

If given the choice, I’d rather go to or watch a baseball game than a football game, but I know this time of year my vote is outnumbered.  Who watched the Puppy Bowl?  Charlie did!  Regardless of whether you prefer watching puppies play around or the commercials more than the game, I hope that your Sunday is a fun day and your bellies are full of delicious food!

We’re watching the game at home {so we can stick to our bedtime routine} and celebrating my mom’s birthday with pizza and cake.  This post is going up right before kickoff, but all of these recipes would be crowd pleasers for any sporting event!

Favorite Pinterest Finds

Individual 7 Layer Dip Cups by Spend with Pennies:  My mom made her own guacamole when she made this dip which made it extra delicious, but she skipped one of the best layers…  The beans.  I couldn’t pay her to eat beans.  I personally love beans and the Trader Joe’s Refried Black Beans with Jalapeños are perfect for this dip.

Loaded Nacho Fries by Sweet C’s Designs:  Nachos meets fries.  Woah.  Mind blown.  This isn’t the skinniest dish, but a few swaps could lighten it up…  Slice your own fries, use sweet potatoes instead of russet potatoes, swap ground chicken or turkey for beef, go light on the cheese or use a light cheese, and put the sour cream and guacamole on the side for people to spoon on top themselves.

Baked Blooming Onion by Gimme Some Oven:  Outback was one of our go-to’s when we were traveling for sports tournaments in high school.  They could accommodate our large crowd, the food was moderately priced, and the menu appealed to almost everyone.  Plus, they had the famous Bloomin’ Onion.  This baked version looks equally tasty.

19 Pizza Recipes Worth Taking a Look At by Bless This Mess:  When I think football I think beer, wings, nachos, and pizza.  The quadfecta.  If you’re not too into watching the actual game {like me}, you could prepare the fixings during the first half, form a pizza assembly line during half time {while you watch the halftime performance}, pop the pizzas in the oven, and rejoin for the group for the remainder of the game.

Copycat Chick-fil-A Nuggets by Damn Delicious:  We don’t typically eat fast food, but we’ll occasionally make an exception for Chick-fil-A.  Does anyone else crave it more on Sundays than any other day of the week?  That always happens.  With this recipe you can enjoy Chick-fil-A any day that your heart desires.  I’m intrigued by the pickle juice in the batter.

10 Sliders and Mini Burgers {Super Bowl Recipes} by The Celebration Shoppe:  Perfect for appetizers or as a main dish, sliders are always a crowd favorite.  Set up a slider bar with buns, burgers, and a bunch of toppings for everyone to create their own.  And if you want to get creative, you could make a few different burgers – beef, turkey, salmon – or even crab cakes.

Pizza Nachos by Two Peas and Their Pod:  Another amazing nacho dish.  Who doesn’t love ooey gooey cheese?  Serve it up with extra tortilla chips or even baguette slices to mop up all the leftover toppings.  Added bonus: this is a one-pot dish so your sink won’t be overflowing after your guests leave.

Football Team Color Guide by McCormick:  These cupcakes would be a fun way for you and your friends to show which team you’re rooting for.  I just noticed they didn’t include the Redskins on this list, ha!  If you’re a Redskins fan, you could use the New England red and Green Bay gold.

13 Cheery-Worthy Super Bowl Desserts by Brit + Co:  I’ll have to pass on a few of these desserts {cake in an egg?! chips + salsa cookies?!}, but some of them I couldn’t pass up.  The Chocolate Strawberry Footballs are super cute and creative.  And if we needed just one more nacho recipe, how about apple nachos.  This post should be retitled to Nacho Average Super Bowl.

Football Cookies and Cream Dip by Creative Juice:  My Oreo obsession continues so this dip looks insanely delicious.  But dangerous, very dangerous.  If this magically made its way into our fridge you’d likely find me eating it by the spoonful.  The only thing that I could imagine making it better would be using Cake Batter Oreos.

Secondly, I should clarify a few things from yesterday’s Two Words Tuesday post

  • I’m picking my car up after work today.  I really am a good driver – the only ticket I’ve gotten was for a trash violation when I was living in Boston and I disputed it.  The ticket was eventually revoked…  But that’s a whole other story.
  • The “BE EPIC” tank was free when I originally signed up for pv.body.  I ultimately unsubscribed from their monthly when they switched over to Ellie.
  • It would be really cool to complete a tri one day but that one day was not over the weekend, I just happened to pass by it on my run.
  • I didn’t purchase any of the bacon products from World Market, but your suggestions of adding the syrup to a cappuccino or into pancakes are quite intriguing.  Maybe I should have bought a bottle?

Anddd thirdly, moving onto Wednesday’s traditional theme: my Tuesday eats…
